For just the new paints from GW that I know will be useful it will cost me £39.10, that’s more than a Wraithlord :(

Just got back from the regional finals of the WH40K school league.

Unfortunately we didn’t qualify for the national finals but all five of us had a great time and got a chance to play some great games, as well as look around Warhammer World.

I drew twice and lost once in my three games, although I now realise that my second game should have been a win as I was incorrect about the objective contest distance (thinking it was 6” rather than 3”), but oh well. I seriously doubt it would have made too much of a difference.

While I was there I bought myself a Harlequin Shadowseer and started sticking it together, so I’ll get round to painting that soon… maybe.

I still haven’t really done much with my high elves and am reluctant to paint them now until I have some of the new paints, but my Shadowseer will be joining a troupe of Harlequins which is pretty poorly painted anyway so I’m not too fussed about that being amazingly painted.

Anyway yeah done rambling. We should find out where we actually placed soon, they only figured out the people who were qualifying while we were there.

EDIT: The first Eldar I want to paint with the new range is either an Avatar or a Wraithseer (I have heard rumours that the latter will be in the new codex)

mspandrew:

Whoops I think I broke that webcomics thing. That was probably a bad idea. I should really learn to recognize when I am in the middle of perpetrating a bad idea. One of the major tipoffs is when I start mentioning the Olive Garden.

Ok change of plans dudes stop clicking that goddamn link.

Fandom: Continue to click that goddamn link.

We had organised a walk for today, (un)luckily it was really sunny! We all had a great time, but it was very tiring and pretty much everyone got sunburnt.

Also, we ran out of water about an hour before the end of the walk (largely because I drank about 2 litres of it).

QES Games Club WH40K tournament stuff.

Some of our boards look really bare due to lack of scenery at the moment. Hopefully we will be able to get some for the club soon!

EDIT: These are really badly stretched for some reason?

E2: Fixed.

Expect photospam later. For now I’m going to play Mass Effect 2

So I’ve been running a short knockout tournament for Warhammer 40k at our school games club recently, and seeing as I’d been knocked out last week I decided to go around taking pictures of some of the games.

I went around the Tyranid vs Chaos table a few times hoping to see this Mawloc in action, and eventually got to “see” it burrow underneath this unit of Chaos Space Marines, rising up to eviscerate them.

The Chaos player decided the photo would look much better with the killed models still shown somehow, and so we arrived at this situation.

Today is an interesting day.

To the Americans, it’s 3/14, or sometimes 3.14

Does that mean anything to anyone?

What if I was to say that it will be more… precise… in three years time?

In my dreams I'm dying all the time: KONY 2012: Causing more harm than good.

Dear Jason Russell,

After being bombarded with your KONY 2012 crusade, I have no choice but to respond to your highly inaccurate, offensive, and harmful propaganda. I realized I had to respond in hopes of stopping you before you cause more violence and deaths to the Acholi people (Northern…

Having read a lot of the stuff about Kony 2012, I feel quite bad about putting it up here. The overwhelming verdict seems to be that “Invisible Children” is not solely committed to stopping Kony, but is more interested in profiteering.

Having had a family member involved in a charity which seemed to care more about the money than the people it was trying to help (he left as soon as he realized he couldn’t fix it, by the way), I can understand where the people who claim this are coming from.

Please note that I say “claim” as I realize (now) that none of this can be taken as completely true, only as evidence. But there is certainly overwhelming evidence to suggest that the “Kony 2012” video is not what it appears.

Apologies to anyone who saw the video on my blog and to the friends who saw it on my facebook - it won’t happen again.

My Warlocks for the Seer Council I wanted :D

(Intend to make a Jetbike Seer Council at some point in the future, there’s some other stuff I want to do first)

And this is what I’m going to be painting over the next month or so.

Along with some Eldar Warlocks I’ve yet to finish.

The “painted” spearman, archer and swordsmaster were done by the year 7s who come to the games club at school during a painting session. I’m undecided whether to simply improve on them or to just go over with white again. Thoughts?

My Eldar Death Jester.

I decided not to do any of the complex patterning you often see on Harlequins for two reasons.

1. Because my other Harlequins were painted a while ago they don’t have that pattern!

2. I decided that my Death Jester was going to play the part of the Nightbringer almost literally. (I’m pretty sure the C’Tan aren’t huge fans of checked clothing)

luxlumens:

and we will.  (video)

My favorite part of this video was the presentation of the crisis to an innocent child, and his reaction to it. Beautifully done. Amazingly effective.

The whole video was stunningly done. It’s just too difficult to refuse it.

The start, as well. He almost forces people to pay attention. xD
